Improvisation is the art of discovery — an invitation to explore creativity, spontaneity, and truth in the moment.

In this inspiring, hands-on workshop, participants will learn to trust their instincts, connect deeply with their inner artist, and respond authentically to any situation. Through guided exercises and playful exploration, Ayçil Yeltan helps performers break free from self-consciousness and uncover the joy of presence.

You’ll develop imagination, emotional freedom, and storytelling skills that elevate your performances—on stage, on camera, or in everyday life. Whether you’re an experienced actor or a curious beginner, this session offers tools to cultivate creative flow, adaptability, and truthful expression.

Ayçıl Yeltan – Director/Screenwriter /Actress/Musician

 

After earning her degrees in Music and Theater from Ankara and Istanbul State Conservatories, she recorded with distinguished musicians. She started her acting career at Dormen Theater in Türkiye. She earned her MFA at CalArts in acting with a scholarship and appeared in numerous stage, film, and TV productions in İstanbul, New York, and Los Angeles. Ayçıl writes, directs, and produces films and continues her acting career in independent film productions internationally.

Yeltan’s debut feature film “Fidan” has won several awards, including Best Editing & Best Supporting Actress at the 61st International Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival and 3 Special Menzione from Cinema d`iDEA Film Festival, including the Director, Lead Actress, and Supporting Actress. Fidan was an official selection by many distinguished film festivals around the world, such as Cinemed, France… The film has been granted “First Feature Film Support” by the Ministry of Culture, Turkey, a film score award at the Fest Pitching Forum in Portugal, and a prize for post-production in the work in progress program at Med Film Festival in Rome.

Her second short film, “Topanga,” which she wrote, directed, and produced, won 6 awards in global film competitions and film festivals, including 2 Audience Awards for Best Short Film between 2019 and 2020. In addition to her involvement as an artist, she also served at international film festivals as a juror.

As an educator, Yeltan began teaching acting with the Community Arts Partnership in 2006, while pursuing her MFA in Acting at CalArts. She taught, directed plays, and worked in different universities, high schools, and minority theater programs for different age groups. UCLA Recreational Center, Plaza de La Raza, and Keep Youth Doing Something are among the organizations she worked with. Since then, she taught acting for camera classes at universities such as CalArts, Olympic College Film School, as well as private schools such as Chicago Actors` Studio. Yeltan currently teaches in her Screen Acting Studio in Chicago.
