Born and raised in Ankara, Sibel merges her passion for cinema with a lifelong love of the arts. Although her academic journey took her through an economics degree at Hacettepe University and business management degree at Capilano University, her heart has always beat to the rhythm of creativity.

As a cinema enthusiast with strong ties to TV broadcasting & film production due to family profession, she’s not merely a spectator but an active participant in various artistic endeavors. As an amateur artist, she enjoys oil painting, drawing, ceramics, mosaic, and writing; any forms of arts enabling her to reflect her soul onto various artistic canvases. She has also volunteered at local Women’s Film Festivals in Türkiye, supporting women’s voices in cinema, and served as the creative director of a professional magazine.

With over three years of experience as the Director of Public Relations and then as the Director of Fundraising of the Turkish-Canadian Society, she’s dedicated to promoting arts and culture.

In her professional life, she’s been a senior manager in higher education for over a decade, with a focus on student recruitment, marketing & communications.
Now, as part of the VTFF committee, she eagerly looks forward to contributing to the VTFF festival with her dedication, passion, and expertise.
